In 2008, our students traveled to Rimrock Ranch in Wyoming for a 7-day, culturally immersive experience. Aside from horseback riding, white water rafting, campfires, and other "dude ranch activities", students expanded their awareness through a series of simulated experiences.

Each day, students lived on the ranch under different governmental structures. We highlighted and discussed historical, cultural, and societal issues involved with living in any community.

Through journaling as well as a series of reflective activities and discussions, students were challenged to analyze and expand their comfort zones and to see the world from the perspectives of other individuals and people groups. As a result, our students left with  a stronger sense of self, a greater awareness of the world around them, will positively impact in their families, schools and communities in the coming months.
