The Civil War was the backdrop as students traveled by train to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 2002. $11,000 was raised to help cover trip costs. The trip included extensive tours of the actual battlefield and visits to the Farnsworth House, the Jennie Wade House, the Eisenhower Farm, and the National Park Service Visitor Center.
Students learned about and discussed the emotional and physical events that marked the Civil War and the entire era. Extensive diversity training took place during the entire trip. All content is ©Copyright 2010 McLean County Diversity Project |
