2007 was a pivotal year, as the project raised $60,000 and partnered with United Airlines, to take the students to New York City.

The Project also expanded its focus to include year-round educational opportunities. Students studied topics such as immigration, terrorism, and trade to prepare them for their trip to New York City.

Those studies helped enhance the students' experiences, as they explored immigration by going to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, studied the value of civil liberties after visiting Ground Zero and evaluated the effectiveness of the United Nations' efforts to promote world peace during a briefing by United Nations staff working to combat terrorism.

Other educational opportunities included a
visit to a Sikh temple, where students had an opportunity to prepare a Sikh meal, a visit to Central Park, where students learned about edible plants, and a visit to the Brooklyn Arts Council, where students learned ethnic dances.
