Imagine if you will, a world at war with itself. Terror reigns. Human beings are publicly executed, publicly tortured. The Privileged rape at will. Ethnic origin and/or political affiliation define entitlement to the most basic of human rights. Justice reaffirms inequity. Leaders of warring factions publicly state that peace can only occur when regime change has been affected.
Ultimately, a military conclusion is secured. Histories are revised. Governing bodies are re-invented in the hope that inequity will now, reaffirm justice.

Yet the war continues. Only the battlefields shift. The battle is now to be fought in and for, the hearts and souls of those who are, and those who will be. Conquest defeats Victory.

Such is a segment of the history of our country, of our people.

Why are we going to Vicksburg?

Understanding our history yields a rich and meaningful contemporary relevance. A contemporary relevance with both national and international components.

The overlay of gained historical perspective upon an interactive dialogue,specifically designed to evoke a rational and functional appreciation for the differences which reside in us all; offers an opportunity for the development of an enlightened and compassionate citizenry.

We go to Vicksburg to compete on the battlefield for the hearts and souls of those who desire a more tolerant society. A society where all its members acknowledge and value that: our similarities reside within our differences.

We go to Vicksburg with the fervent belief that the need for an understanding and appreciation of all peoples is of critical importance to the future of mankind. Perhaps more so now, than ever before.

We are of a variety of colors.
We are of a variety of creeds.
We are of a variety of physical and mental capabilities.
We are The Vicksburg Diversity Project.
We are The Face of America;
And The World.
