Students are required to complete an individual or group project. Through the completion of their project, students gain problem-solving and leadership skills that they bring to their communities.

For the second year, the Project has partnered with AMBUCS, which is offering our students a unique opportunity to serve others by participating in a ramp-build.

In addition, the Project has partnered with the Illinois School for the Deaf and the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired who will provide multi-day internships for two of our students, who will job shadow teachers and work with students under supervision.

Students may also participate in the production of The Laramie Project to fulfill their project requirement. Or, students may elect to create their own projects, and those are as unique as our students. For example, last year, one of our students made blankets for patients at St. Jude Children's Hospital. Another collected eye glasses for the needy.
