The highlight of each year is an annual trip to a historically significant destination. Lessons learned in the past are applied to today's global society through ongoing training and open, interactive discussions. The group has traveled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania ; Vicksburg, Mississippi ; Tahlequah, Oklahoma ; Chicago, Illinois ; The Highlander Institute in the Smoky Mountains , New York City , and Wyoming.  Community support from groups and individual donors has made it possible to offer trips at no cost to the students for the past five years.
